This antique Edwardian Suffragette ring is a wonderful example of the jewellery crafted to show support for the women’s rights movement during this time. It is crafted around a beautiful 0.60ct Amethyst, with a pair of Peridots and four Diamonds, all set into an elegant 18ct Yellow Gold gallery.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
This is a wonderful piece, fully hallmarked inside the shank and a great talking point.
